Alma Kennedy Huey, 89, of Greenville, widow of Earl Crawford Huey, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late I.W. Kennedy and Myrtle Moon Kennedy. Mrs. Huey grew up in the Thornwell Home for Children in Clinton, SC. She is survived by her two sons, Earl K. Huey, of Greenville, and William C. Huey, and wife, Elizabeth, of Mount Pleasant; grandchildren, Eliza and Emily Huey; and sister, Catherine Norwood, of Douglasville, Georgia. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Cothran. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2014, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The Memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Thornwell Home for Children, 302 S. Broad Street, Clinton, South Carolina 29325.
