Anna Jean Cox Fulmer went home to be with her heavenly father December 27, 2013. Jean was born June 14, 1927, to Foster Wendell and Anna Wolfe Cox. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1944 and attended Winthrop College. She married John Roscoe Fulmer January 6, 1945. She was a very loving, caring, and friendly Christian woman. Jean was secretary at East Park Baptist Church for 27 years. She sang in church choirs her entire married life for as long as her health permitted. She taught Sunday school, and directed children's choirs for many years in several local Baptist churches. Jean loved children all of her life and children loved her. She was an excellent seamstress and a very creative and active person who loved the outdoors. She lived in Greenville until 1973 when she and Jack built their home in Simpsonville. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dell Richardson, Mary Connor, and Millie Alford; her son, John Roscoe Fulmer Jr., and wife, Vicki McCall Fulmer, and son-in-law, Jordan Chick Gary. She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 69 years; daughters, Mary Ellen and husband, Cary Garret, of Simpsonville, SC, Barbara Gary of Wichita Falls, TX, Diane and husband, Tate Rouser, of Fountain Inn, SC; ten grandchildren and their spouses; 15 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Services will be held in the chapel at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown at 1:30 p.m., Monday, December 30, 2013, with the Reverend Josh Lancaster officiating. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service from 12:00 pm. until 1:15 p.m. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be given to The National Alzheimer's Association, 301 University Ridge, Suite 5000, Greenville, SC 20601 or East Park Baptist Church, 12 Ebaugh Ave, Greenville, SC 29607. Sorry to hear of Mrs Fulmer's passing. She was a godly example and a real blessing. Will be praying for Mr Fulmer as he begins a major adjustment after having a wonderful helpmate for almost 7 decades. What an example !!
