Boggs Attaway

Dwight Boggs Attaway, 88, widower of Jean Chiles Attaway, died Thursday, November 24, 2011 at Pendleton Manor. Born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Alpheus Dwight and Ressie Boggs Attaway. Mr. Attaway was a retired owner of Attaway Easterlin Pontiac and a member of Northside United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He was a member of the Good Ole Boys of the Greenville Country Club, IPTAY, and a former member of the Civitan Club and the Salvation Army Board. Surviving are four daughters, Norma McAlhany and husband, John, of Greenwood, Sandra Culbertson and husband, Norman, of Rock Hill, Cindy Howard and husband, Bill, of Greenville and Jane Alexander and husband, Mont, of Columbia; twelve grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Northside United Methodist Church, 435 Summit Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. Visitation will be held Friday, November 25, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in the downtown chapel. Burial will be in Springwood Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes.
