Brenda Cathey, 71, of Laurens, died Sunday, August 10, 2014. Born in Laurens, she was the daughter of the late Barney M. Culbertson and Juanita Brownlee Bright. Brenda had retired as an Office Manager in the retail business. Survivors include a son, Marc Cathey, Pilot Mountain, NC; two stepdaughters, Deborah Wheeler, Martinsburg, WV, and Teresa Cathey, Detroit, MI; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Fredd Culbertson, Santa Rosa, CA; and her companion of nineteen years, Kenneth Prince, Laurens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 14, 2014, from 6:00-8:00 PM at the family home, 8782 Neely Ferry Road, Laurens. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 15, 2014, at 11:00 AM, at Union Baptist Church, 536 Old Quaker Church Road, Laurens. Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast Chapel
