Carl Grant, 72, of Simpsonville, husband of Gail Riggins Grant, died Sunday, August 24, 2014. Born in Woodruff, SC, he was the son of the late Louie Melvin Grant and Lucy West Grant. Mr. Grant served in the National Guard and was employed 34 years as a service rep for AM International. He was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, taught Sunday School, and was a member of the Friendship Class. Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 44 years, is a daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Danny Kilpatrick of Mauldin; a son, Mark Grant of Lyman; a sister and brother-in-law, Martha and James Gillespie of Woodruff; and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast. The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel. The Burial will follow in Graceland East Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 1990 Augusta Street, Greenville, SC 29605 or 864-370-2402. The family is at the residence.
