September 21, 1944 - June 13, 2012
Creig Kennedy, 67, of Powdersville, husband of Mary Ann Shelley Kennedy, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home. Born in Dothan, AL, he was the son of the late Tom Espy and Pera Elkins Kennedy and stepson of the late Clyde Elkins. Mr. Kennedy was a member of Augusta Road United Methodist Church and Blackwood Congregational Church in Dothan, AL. He had a passion for community service and was very active with several missions groups. Mr. Kennedy was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Jennifer Kennedy; a granddaughter, Logan Kennedy; a nephew, Jeremy Landrum; three brothers; and numerous extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Kennedy; and a brother. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Augusta Road United Methodist Church with a celebration of Craig's life following at 3:00 p.m. in the church. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Augusta Road United Methodist Church Youth Missions, 8324 Augusta Road, Pelzer, SC 29669. Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown.
