Curtis Irby

June 19, 1932 - March 1, 2013
Curtis Irby, husband of Helen Scott Irby, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013. Born in Fountain Inn, he was a son of the late Willie and Azalee Pinson Irby. Curtis served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Velma Daniels, Conswallo Irby, and Melody Samuel, and her husband, Kendal; three sons, Tony Irby, and his wife, Liz, Donald Irby, and Reggie Wright; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Robertson; two brothers, Josephus Irby, and James McDaniel; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Debra Miles and Bessie Bullock; a sister, Dorothy Irby Smith; and two brothers, Willie Irby, Jr., and Devoe Irby. The family would like to especially thank Open Arms Hospice Care and St. Francis Home Care Staff for their service to Mr. Irby. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown from 12:30 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. followed by the Memorial Service at 1:30 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. The family will be at the residence.
