Dantha Cumar Vejay

Dantha Cumar Vejay, 72, of Greenville, loving husband of Mallika Samaraweera Vejay, died July 17, 2013. Born in Sri Lanka, he was a son of the late David and Dona Wijewickrema. Cumar was a retired Mechanical Engineer from Flour Corporation, and a member of Carolina Buddhist Vihara where he was the former President of the Board. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, S. Deva Wijewickrema and his wife, Dina, of Atlanta; his daughter, Samantha Devika Vejay of Greenville; three grandchildren, Adem, Faris and Summer; two sisters, Bhadra Gunasekera and Kanthi Kahaduwe; and his brother, Chandra Wijewickrema. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Amanawansa Ladduwahetty, Kamal Wijewickrema, and Lucky Wijewickrema. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast, 1604 NE Main Street, Simpsonville, SC 29681. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Buddhist Vihara, 113 Woodridge Circle, Greenville, SC 29607.
