Deanna May

Deanna Bell May, 67, of Traveler's Rest, wife of Johnny H. May, died Friday, October 19, 2012 at her residence. Born in War, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Roberts and Barbara E. Murphy. Mrs. May worked as a nurse's aide at St. Joseph in Indiana, where she lived for 50 years before moving to the Upstate. In addition the her husband, she was survived by two daughters, Barbara Riecke, and Abby Rhodes, and husband, Eugene; son, Tony McConnehey, and wife, Peggy; four step-children, Johnny H. May, Jr., Georgia Shelton, Dorothy Vivert, and Max P. May; five grandchildren, Brittany and Joshua McConnehey, Magan and Amanda Riecke, and Austin Lee Hess; great-grandson, Xander McConnehey; 12 step-grandchildren; and sister, Gail "Jerry" Mullins. She was preceded in death by granddaughter, Taylor Marie McCintosh. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held Monday, October 22, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Northwest Chapel. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery formerly Grand View Memorial Gardens.
