Ed Blakeney

Ed Blakeney , 88, of Greenville passed away Friday, February 21, 2014.
Born in Mt. Airy, NC, he was the son of the late Dr. Jabez and Alice Blakeney Williams. Ed retired from U.S Air Force after serving in World War II and the Korean War. He also retired from Yeargin Construction in the Human Resources Department. He was a member of Berea First Baptist Church and a graduate of Furman University. Surviving are two sons, Steve Blakeney Donna, and Scott Blakeney Karen, both of Greenville; five grandchildren, Jessica Johnson, Jonathan, Kenneth, Drew, and Sarah Blakeney; five great grandchildren, Lily, Tytus, and Ava Johnson, and Cheyenne and Zoey Blakeney. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Doris Ann Blakeney.
Funeral Service will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park Remembrance Chapel on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation prior at 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Entombment will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 301 University Square, Suite 5000, Greenville, SC 29601 or Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
