Edgar Ruff

Edgar "Ed" Ruff, 71, of 176-A Long Shoals Rd., Marietta, died Friday, February 26, 2010 at his residence. Born in Marshall, NC, he was a son of the late Grady and Iva Jinkins Ruff. Prior to his retirement, he worked in the construction industry. He was of the Church of God faith. Surviving are one daughter, Missy Brookshire and husband Steve of Travelers Rest; three sons, Joe Ruff and wife May of Greenville, Eddie James Ruff of McCormick, and Frankie Ruff and wife Mary of Easley; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and caregivers, Ervin and Carolyn Bryant. Mr. Ruff was preceded in death by a sister, Bertha Mae Futrell, and brother, Donald Ruff. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Cedar Lane Assembly of God, with burial to follow in Coleman Cemetery. The family is at the home of Missy and Steve Brookshire, 525 Belvue Rd., Travelers Rest.
