Edith ?Pistol? Brothers Syracuse, 81, of 1950 Roe Ford Road, Greenville, SC, widow of M.G. Syracuse, Sr., died Monday, May 29, 2006 at Hilton Head Regional Medical Center. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Ira A. and Emma McCarson Brothers. Mrs. Syracuse was a 1942 graduate of Greenville High School and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Mountain Laurel Garden Club of Travelers Rest and enjoyed gatherings with her Greenville High 1942 classmates. ?Pistol? was a devoted wife and mother. Her feisty spirit will be missed by her family and many friends. Surviving are two daughters, Myra S. Davis of Bluffton, SC., Sheila K. Syracuse of Redondo Beach, CA.; two sons, M. George Syracuse, Jr. and Mark C. Syracuse of Hendersonville, NC.; and six grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Davis, William Bradley Davis, Myer G. Syracuse, III., Mark Syracuse, Jordan Syracuse, and Megan Barber. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 421 N. Main Street, Greenville, SC 29601. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2006 from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 1, 2006 at 1:30 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Reverend Susan Crowell officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
