Eleanor McWhite Pool, 86, widow of Joseph Daniel Pool, Sr., died Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at St. Francis, Eastside. Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late William Lewis and Sarah Mackey McWhite. Mrs. Pool was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Easley and the Wesley Sunday School class. Surviving are a son, Joseph D. Pool, MD and wife, Jean, of Greenville; and three grandchildren, Shelby Ruehling and husband, Wick, of Nashville, TN, Amanda Pool of Atlanta, GA and Charlotte Pool of Tuscaloosa, AL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sarah Gossett Retirement Home, 27 Conestee Avenue, Greenville, SC 29605. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 11, 2010 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. A graveside service will be held Friday, November 12, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
