Ella Mae Sharpe

July 25, 1925 - January 15, 2009
Ella Mae "GiGi" Sharpe, 83, widow of Darling H. Sharpe, went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 15, 2009. Born in Simpsonville on July 25, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Blanche Duncan. Ella Mae was a seamstress by trade and a very strong Christian woman. She was a member of Trinity Fellowship. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Pruitt Childs and her husband Mike; grandchildren, Mark Childs and wife Mary, Cherie Davis and husband David, Cathy Law, Jill McGatha and husband Jeff, and Jan Rochester; her sister Sarah Howell; great-grandchildren: Jordan W., Beth, Sara, Hunter, Jonathan, Jared, Jenna, Jordan M., Jade, Ashton and Jaylon who is on the way; and her great-great grandson, Bradley. Ella Mae was preceded in death by her first husband, Conway James Pruitt, her daughter, Connie Gfeller, her son James Pruitt; granddaughter Wendy Rochester; a brother William Duncan and her sister Mary Ellen Carter. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with visitation prior starting at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, West. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society or The American Heart Association. The family will be at the home of Kay Childs, 743 Holly Bush Road, Easley.
