Eugene Pruitt

Eugene ?Cotton? Pruitt, 73, of 101 Rainbow Drive, died Thursday, April 14, 2005. Born in Greenville he was the son of the late Lonnie and Myrtle Belt Pruitt and husband of the late Irene Robertson Pruitt. Mr. Pruitt served in the U.S. Army and Navy during the Korean War. He retired from County of Greenville and was a member of the Shriner?s, VFW, American Legion, and Mason of Sam Poe Lodge. Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn Martin and husband Sherrill of Columbia; three sisters, Roxie Mahon and husband John of Greenville, June McSweeney and Judy Shirley both of Greenville; an uncle, Robert Pruitt of Greenville; two grandchildren, Stephanie Smithson and husband Trent of Apex, NC, and Nichole Martin of Raleigh, NC; and three great- grandchildren, Marty, Hunter and Chance Smithson, all of Apex, NC. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 6:30 ? 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Services will be held on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, West. Memorials may be made to Shriner?s Hospital for Crippled Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605. The family is at the home of Donna Shirley, 30 Fairhope Lane, Greenville, SC.
