Faye Lazar

Faye Lazar, 86, of Greenville, widow of James B. Lazar, died Thursday, June 4, 2015.

Born in Oconee County she was a daughter of the late Willie and Pearl Marie Standridge.

Faye, 1945 graduate of Parker High School, was a member of City View Baptist Church and loved gardening.

She is survived by one son, Mike Lazar; one grandchild; two great grandchildren; two nieces; and two nephews.

In addition to her loving husband of 41 years she is preceded in death by one sister; and one brother.

The visitation will be held Monday, June 8, 2015 form 12:00 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest with a funeral service to follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Northwest chapel. Burial will be held in Graceland Cemetery, West.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Heartland Health
Care East (Oakmont) for their love
and care for many years.

Memorials may be made to City View Baptist Church Senior Ministry, 2300 W. Blue Ridge Dr., Greenville, SC 29611.

The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ross and Mary Lazar.

My siblings and I will never forget, and will always be grateful to our cousins, Buck and Faye, or as we called them, Aunt Faye and Uncle Buck. When our Father, Buck's uncle passed away at the young age of 47, they stepped up and became our support system. With five children ranging from 9 to 16, Mom found great comfort in their love and support. They made sure our first Christmas without our dad was a special one, bringing fruit, gifts and simply spending time with us. They hosted cook outs and visited us often. We will never forget their kindness.
