Fred Cisson, Jr

November 26, 1925 - April 15, 2010
Fred Cisson, Jr., 84, left this life to live forever in heaven with Jesus, his Savior, on April 15, 2010. He was the son of the late Josiephine and Fred Cisson, Sr. Fred is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joann Moody Cisson; daughter and son-in-law, Freda and John Haase; his only grandchild, Ashley, the light of his life; two sisters, Annette Pruitt and Kay Greene; a brother, Jim Cisson; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Marvin Cisson; and three sisters, Geneva Cisson, Margaret Acker, and Ruby Howard. Fred retired from Southern Weaving where he was Plant Superintendent. He loved sports, and at the age of 20, was drafted by the Pittsburg Farm Club as a pitcher. Mr. Cisson served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Before his health declined, he was an active member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher, greeter, usher and deacon. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 18, 2010 in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12 Noon – 1:15 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC, 29605. The family will be at the residence.
