Furman Leopard

October 12, 1922 - June 3, 2004
Furman Leopard, 81, of 2864 Old Highway 14 South, died June 3, 2004 at St. Francis Hospital, Downtown. Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Harrison I. and Janie Brown Leopard. He served in the US Army during WW II and was employed with Lyman Mills for over 38 years. Mr. Leopard attended Pelham First Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Gordon Leopard of the home; two daughters, Susan Deweese and her husband, David, of Greer and Deborah Ellison and her husband, Mike, of Piedmont; a niece reared in the home, Donna Blackwell and her husband, Gary, of Taylors. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Chris Hoover, Mandy Hoover, Joe Deweese, Kacey Deweese and Meghan Ellison and two great-grandchildren, Madison and Tori. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel with visitation prior to the service, from 12 Noon until 1:15 p.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family is at the residence.
