G.Roy Turner

G. Roy Turner, 87, of Greenville, husband of Betty Ivey Turner, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Born in Franklin County, GA, he was a son of the late Garland C. and Nancy Carroll Turner. Mr. Turner served in the US Navy during WWII and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. In addition to his loving wife of 56 years, he is survived by daughter, Georgia Faye Bacon; son, Randy Turner Maria; grandson, Brian Turner Jenny; granddaughter, Mandy Christie David; granddaughters, Kimberly and April; great grandchildren, Jodie, Ashleigh, and Marcus Turner and Kaleb, Gabriel and Addyson Christie; and twin brother, G. Coy Turner. He was preceded in death by son, Marcus Turner; brother, Marvin Turner; and sister, Doris T. Riggins. Visitation will be held Friday, May 30, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest with the funeral service following at 1:30 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Rock Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 201 Rock Springs Road, Easley, SC 29642.
