Gayland Slick

May 24, 1949 - February 6, 2012
Gayland Slick, 62, of 44 E. Circle Avenue, husband of Debbie Collins Slick, went to be with the Lord, Monday, February 6, 2012 at his residence. Born in Iowa, he was the son of the late Charles Alva and Anita Copeland Slick. Mr. Slick was retired from Bob Jones University, after 39 years of service, and was a member of Hampton Park Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Katie Slick; a son, Christopher Slick; and two brothers, Jon and Tom Slick. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at Hampton Park Baptist Church. Burial will follow in M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hampton Park Baptist Church or Bob Jones University.
