Geneva Sargent

B. Geneva Moore Sargent, 83, of Greenville, died Friday, September 2, 2011. Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Eva Marie Brewer Moore. Mrs. Sargent was formerly employed by Cone Mills-American Spinning and was a member of Hilltop Avenue Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Kent Sargent and his wife, Debbie, of Greenville; three grandchildren, Stacey Sargent Stowe, Shannon Sargent Duckworth, and Katie Sargent; four great grandchildren, Stephanie, Emily and Jessie Stowe, and Ronnie Pressley; five sisters, Eloise Bryant, Betty Jo Hollingsworth, Nettie Cole, Gladys Wofford, and Lynda Robinson; and five brothers, Lee Moore, Rev. Gordon Moore, Billy Moore, Rev. Bobby Moore, and Jerry Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Eugene Sargent and a brother, James Moore. Visitation will be held Monday, September 5, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at the Downtown Chapel. Burial will follow the funeral service at Graceland Cemetery West.
