Hattie Dunn

Hattie Barton Dunn, 84, of Greenville, widow of George E. "Buck" Dunn, Jr., passed away following a short illness on Friday, March 1, 2013 with her family by her side. Born in Canton, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Lizzie T. Jones and James R. Barton. Hattie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed. She was a homemaker and a Parker High School graduate. Hattie was a charter member of Covenant Grace Baptist Church, formerly Leawood Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, George E. Dunn III, and his wife, Wanda; two daughters, Kris D. Wakefield and Arena D. Youtz, and her husband, Dick; three granddaughters, Jordan Dunn, Megan Michael, and Terryjean Moody; one great grandchild, Tyler Moody; two sisters, Ollie Garrison and Mellie Vickery; and one brother, Jerry Barton. She was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Smith; two brothers, J.C. Barton and Jack Barton; and by Margaret Keeler who was her best friend, neighbor, and walking buddy. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Monday, March 4, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Covenant Grace Baptist Church, 401 State Park Road. Internment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
