Helen Sides

November 22, 1921 - June 22, 2005
Helen Lee Rogers Sides, 83, widow of Everett Sides, Sr., formerly of Praise Village of Greer, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at Laurel Baye Nursing Center. Born in Pelzer, she was the daughter of the late John Shuman Rogers, Sr. and Ruth Dowis Rogers. Mrs. Sides was a homemaker and a member of Praise Cathedral Church of God. Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Charles McAtee of Anderson, Vivian and George March of Greer, Wanda and Mark Eoute of Taylors; a son and daughter-in-law, Everett, Jr. and Becky Sides of Travelers Rest; eight grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; four sisters, Edna Wyatt of Greenville, Carolyn King of Bethlehem, GA., Dot Hudson of Greer, Pat Thomas of Six Mile; two brothers, David E. Rogers, Sr. of Greenville, and William R. Rogers of Greer. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Rogers, and two sisters, Alice Holloway and Bobbie Moore. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 600 E. Washington Street, Suite 150, Greenville, SC 29601. Visitation will be held Friday, June 24, 2005 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 25, 2005 at 10:30 AM at Praise Cathedral Church of God. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of a daughter, Wanda Eoute at 114 Linkside Drive in Taylors.
