Horace McDowell

April 8, 1927 - February 5, 2015
Horace Babb McDowell, Jr., "Womack", 87, of Greenville, widower of Hazel Ward McDowell, passed away February 5, 2015. Born April 8, 1927, he was the son of the late Horace and Joyce McDowell. Mr. McDowell retired from Roadway after 28 years and served in the Navy during WWII. He is survived by two daughters, Annette Bright and Kathy Donald Roger; three sons, Dale McDowell, John G. McDowell Kathy and Tony Edwards Denise; nineteen grandchildren and many greats; two sisters, Barbara Zahm and Delores Cleveland. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by two sons, Danny McDowell and Michael McDowell. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. in the Northwest chapel. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery West.
