Hubert Howard

Hubert "Red" Howard, 76, died Monday, December 29, 2008 at Richard M. Campbell VA Nursing Home. Born in Highlands, SC, he was a son of the late Pink and Maude Howard. Mr. Howard was the retired owner of Howard's Mechanical and a member of Mt. Creek Baptist Church. He was also past Potentate of the Hejaz Shrine Temple and a member of the Sam Poe Lodge. He was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. Surviving are Elizabeth Howard of Greenville; a daughter, Debra Brown of Greenville; a sister, Callie Middleton of Landrum; a brother, Ed Howard of Landrum; a stepson, Joey Holden of Duncan; two stepdaughters, DeAnna Schraft of New Jersey and Susan Gallagher of Simpsonville; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Mt. Creek Baptist Church, 255 W. Mountain Creek Church Road, Greenville, SC 29609 or Shriners Hospital for Children, 980 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 12:00 Noon in Mt. Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
