J. Ray Berryhill, 78, of Greenville, widower of Shirley Fisher Berryhill, died Thursday, February 7, 2013. Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late William and Minnie Berryhill. Ray was a member of Berea First Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Joan B. Schmidt David and Gail B. White Gene; two sons, Farron Berryhill Cindy and Marvin Berryhill Deb; six grandchildren, Heather Sweet, Rochelle Liverman Matt, Shannon White, Blair Berryhill, Josh Berryhill Erin and Dillon Berryhill; two great grandchildren, Elijah and Jacob Sweet, and two on the way, Grady Berryhill and Addison Liverman; and two sisters, Evelyn Johnson Lank and Pauline West. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Edna Wright, Louise Morgan and Edith Watkins. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be held Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery West. Memorials may be made to Berea First Baptist Church, 529 Farrs Bridge Rd. Greenville, SC 29611. The family will be at the home.
