Jan Hendrix, age 53, of Rock Hill, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 after a lengthy war with breast cancer.

She was surrounded by her loved ones.

She is survived by her parents, Pete and Martha Hendrix of Greenville, her forever boyfriend, Chris Harris of York, and her vanilla lab, Taylor.

She graduated from Wade Hampton High School, and both Furman and Clemson. She was a member of Aldersgate UMC and proudly worked for Duke Energy for 25 years.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 12:30 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. at Aldersgate UMC followed by the Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aldersgate UMC, 7 Shannon Dr., Greenville, SC 29615.

Jan was the kind of person that when you met her she was forever your friend. She was warm, kind and always cheerful with a kind word. I will miss my friend.

A sweeter soul and braver person does not walk this earth. Jan was such a special person and loved by all who knew her. She will be missed and loved by all of us. She was so strong and brave and positive. I wish peace for her family and Chris.

I am so so sorry to hear that Jan lost her fight with breast cancer, she was a real trooper. I will really miss her friendly smile and our friendly conversations. So sorry to hear about your loss - knew Jan for a lot of years and was always a pleasure to spend time with her - we met in downtown Rock Hill for many years to listen to music and share good conversation. She will be missed.Diana

Jan was such a beautiful person. She was kind hearted, humble, ever positive and smiling. She was my neighbor for 26 years, moving in the weekend before my family. I will truly miss having her as my neighbor and friend. Peace to her parents and Chris. Ginny West
