Joan Whiten

Joan Whiten, 89, of 112 White Circle, died on Tuesday, March 7, 2006. Born in Toccoa, GA, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Claney Thompson Sosby and wife of the late William Sam Whiten. Surviving are three sons, William E. Whiten and wife Kathryn of Townville, Kenneth Whiten and wife Miriam of Marietta, and Bobby Whiten and wife Timi of Greenville; eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She is predeceased by six daughters and two sons. Graveside services will be held on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery, West. Reception following the service will be held at Westwood Baptist Church, 3821 Saluda Dam Road, Easley, SC 29640. The family is at their respective homes.
