Joanne Mayer Shelnut, 68, of 119 West Ridge Drive, wife of Bobby Joe Shelnut, died Monday, November 14, 2004 at her residence. Born in Newberry, she was the daughter of the late Michael O?Neall and Frances Virginia Herring Mayer. Mrs. Shelnut was a homemaker and was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Pamela Howard of Marietta; two sons and daughters-in-law, Phil and Jill Shelnut of Concord, NC., Michael and Janice Shelnut of Greensboro, NC.; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly Johnson of New Ellenton, SC., Karen Ellis of Augusta, GA.; and two brothers, Richard Mayer and Ken Burgess of Greenville. She was predeceased by one brother, Michael Mayer Memorials may be made to St. Francis Hospcie, 414-A Pettigru Street, Greenville, SC 29601. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 17, 2004 from 6:00 until 7:30 PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral home, Downtown. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 18, 2004 at 1:30 PM in the chapel. A private burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the residence.
