Joanne Southern, 55, of Greenville, died November 9, 2009. Born in Gary, IN, she was a daughter of the late James Woodrow Harrison and Laura Mae Waddell Harrison. Joanne loved reading, poems, horses, the beach, and spreading the gospel. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Farren Southern; three children, Donnie Petell, Misty Lynne and Farrah Lee Southern; grandchild, Christopher Joe Lovell; sisters, Melinda Kimbrell, Marsha Burrell; niece, Marie Kimbrell; nephews, Billy Kimbrell, Jr., and James and Mathew Boivin. She was predeceased by her daughter, Vivian Anne Lovell, and a brother Lonnie Harrison. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 11, 2009 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Christian Life Pentecostal Holiness Church, 4 Ballenger Street, Greenville. Memorials may be made to the Children's College Fund, at any SunTrust Bank branch location. The family will be at the home.
