Joe David Raines, Jr

Joe David Raines, Jr., 75, of Greenville, husband of Betty Raines for fifty-four years, died September 30, 2009. Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Joe David Raines, Sr., and Maude Anna Green Raines. Mr. Raines served in the U.S. Army and retired from Hartness International. He was a Christian. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sisters, Lila Spearman and Frances Sizemore, both of Greenville; godchild, Nichole Leopard and her husband Jeffrey and their children, Hope, Michelle and Cameron. Joe was predeceased by his sister, Betty Gilbert and brother, Enos Raines. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The family will be at the residence.
