Judy Merritt Evitt, 65, of Easley, widow of Johnny C. Evitt, died June 15, 2009. Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Bill and Janie Wilma Garrison Merritt. Judy worked for Pathology Consultants and was a member of Assembly of God. She is survived by her son, Randy Evitt and wife Tonya of Easley; two grandsons, Jonathan and Justin Evitt; four brothers, Terry Merritt and wife Joyce, Wayne Merritt and wife Connie, Carroll Merritt and wife Connie, Charles Merritt, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her step-son, Rick Evitt. Visitation will be Thursday, June 18, 2009 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2009 in the chapel of the funeral home, with burial following at Robinson Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Rock Springs Baptist Church, 201 Rock Springs Road, Easley, SC 29642. The family will be at the home of her son, Randy Evitt.
