Katherine Malpless

Katherine Malpless, 85, of 320 Crosswell School Road, wife of Eulos "Shorty" Malpless, died Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Emma Hamby Kuykendall. Mrs. Malpless was retired from JP Stevens and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Peggy Sue Adams of Waterloo, SC; three grandchildren, Bobby Joe Nations, Jr., of Easley, Kathy Ann Wells of Ware Shoals and Christopher Scott Nations of Kansas; three step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Elaine Malpless; and a sister, Alice Rice. Memorials may be made to Victory Baptist Church, 1832 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC 29642. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, West. The family will be at the residence.
