Leroy Nicholson

Leroy Nicholson, 81, of Greenville, loving husband for 50 years of the late Jean Shackelford Nicholson, passed away Monday, October 21, 2013 with his girls by his side. He was a son of the late Dexter and Cumile Daves Nicholson. Mr. Nicholson served in the US Marines during the Korean War and later retired from Bedenbaugh Seed Company after 25 years of employment. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a Mason at the Sam Poe Lodge #284 for 40 years and a Hejaz Shriner. Leroy was a loving Daddy and Bopa to daughters, Cindy White Ronnie and Tootsi Hopkins; brother, Carl Nicholson; sister, Hazel Paris; grandchildren, Leslie, Dustin and Brandon; great grandchildren, Savannah, Sydney, and Mason; caregiver, Shirley Rochester; best friend, Wayne Head; and beloved dog, Poochie. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Burial will follow in Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605. The family will be at the residence of Tootsi Hopkins.
