Lula Moore

Lula E. Moore, 80, widow of William L. "Tot" Moore, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 1, 2009. She and "Tot" were married for 53 ½ years before his death in 2001. Born in Rutherfordton, NC, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Nellie Ridings Ezell. Her mother died when she was four months old and she and her two sisters were raised by her aunt and uncle, Nora Ridings and Thomas W. Harris. She was retired from Reynolds Uniform, following 10 years of service. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Dee Brown of Easley; four grandson, Brian Moore, Eric Brown and his wife, Cori, Chad Brown and his wife, Kim, Randy Brown and his wife, Angie; seven great grandchildren; cousins, raised in the home like sisters, Vera C. Shelton, Josephine C. Evans and Faye C. King and her husband, Calvin; and a number of nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ramona D. Moore; sisters, Mae Thompson, Annie Hindman and Emmie Cantrell; and brothers, Dewey, Dock, Walter, Woodrow and Jade. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Dr.'s Poteat, Culumovic, Giguere and McKinley along with their staff for their wonderful care and prayers they provided Mrs. Moore. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 3, 2009 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the downtown chapel with the Reverend Jerry Tate and the Reverend Dale McCoig officiating. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the residence, 1328 Saluda Dam Road, Easley.
