Marsha Disher

April 16, 1945 - December 30, 2012
Marsha Fly Disher, 67, wife of Dr. John Starling Disher, died Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Nashville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Christine Parman Fly. Mrs. Disher was the past President of the Old 96 Girl Scout Council,, and treasurer at Berea Friendship United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband of 45 years, she is survived by her daughter, Alison Smith Richard, of Alexandria, VA; sons, Brian Disher Lara, of Greer, and Eric Disher Melissa, of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Tyler, Emily, Andrew, Madison, Jake, Grace, Collin, and Joel; sister, Stephanie Rose, of Lebanon, TN; and brother, Lanny Fly, of Williamsburg, VA. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 1, 2013, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Berea Friendship United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Girl Scouts of South Carolina Mountain to Midland, 5 Independence Pointe, Suite 120,
Greenville, SC 29615 or Cancer Treatment Center of South Carolina, 3 Butternut Drive, Suite B
