Michael "Mike" James McKinney, 55, husband of Jane Nix McKinney, died suddenly Saturday, September, 29, 2012. Born in Cincinnati, OH he was a son of Audrey Arnold McKinney of Peachtree City, GA and the late James "Jim" McKinney. Mike worked at Centurylink as a Senior Account Manager. He had a love for music and was the owner of Leprechaun Pedal Boards. He held a patent on guitar pedal boards. As a member of NewSpring Church, he was involved with the Preschool Production. Mike was an avid Clemson fan and member of the Fox Run Country Club, where he loved to play golf. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Lindsey Ridgeway of Duncan, and her husband, Ryan, and Madison Marie McKinney, of the home; two sisters, Michelle M. Tucker of Stone Mountain, GA, and Cheri Eubank of Dalton, GA, and her husband, David; mother-in-law, Jo Ann Vess; sisters-in-law, Mary Beth Borden, and her husband, Richard, and Sheila Garrett, and her husband, Greg; brothers-in-law, Benjamin Vess, and his wife, Lori, and Timothy Vess, and his wife, Anita; and 16 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Patrick McKinney. The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown to be followed by a Celebration of His Life at View Point at Buckhorn Creek 3411 State Park Rd Greenville, SC 29609.
Memorials may be made to the Girls Golf Team at Wade Hampton High School, 100 Pine Knoll Dr., Greenville, SC 29609.

Mike was a genuinely kind and sweet man who loved his family dearly. It's rare to come across a man of his stature, and I'm glad to know I had the opportunity to be in his company. May he rest in peace......
