Milton Trotter, Jr

Milton Trotter, Jr., 87, husband of Miriam DeVore Trotter, of Mauldin, died Friday, July 4, 2014. Born in Lilesville, NC, he was a son of the late Milton Sr. and Ora Owens Trotter. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and chaired the Pastor Search Committee. Junior served in the United States Navy. He owned Independent Finance and Bonding Company and Milton Trotter Properties. Junior will be remembered for his generosity to others. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three children, Susan Trotter; Milton "Dub" Trotter, III and wife Rhonda, and Jan Stone and husband Ernest; a brother, William H. Trotter; a sister, Christine Casebeer; two grandchildren, Alicia Dorsey and husband Derrick, and Grant Trotter; five nephews and three nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother, Willis P. Trotter and a sister, Bernice Trotter. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2014, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast. The Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 301 University Ridge, Suite 5850, Greenville, SC 29601 or New Hope Baptist Church, 509 S. Main Street, Mauldin, SC 29662.
