Olive Boynton, age 95, passed away on Saturday October 18, 2008 at the McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville, SC. She was born January 30, 1913, in Markleysburg, PA. She was the daughter of the late Andrew J. Dennis and Nancy Savage Dennis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James P. Boynton; brothers: Earl Dennis, Ralph Dennis, Roy Dennis, Reverend Brady Dennis, Clarence Dennis, and a sister, Ruth Savage. She is survived by her children: Blaine E. Savage and his wife, Eloise; Arden "Art" Boynton; and James P. Boynton, Jr. and his wife Lila. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Blaine E. Savage, Jr. and his wife, Marsha; Terri Savage Jove' and her husband Dr. Maurice Jove'; Adrienne Boynton, Patrick Boynton and Stephen Boynton and three great-grandchildren: Savannah, Madison and Thomas Savage. She was a member of Tremont Church of God. Until her health failed, she was actively involved with the church shut-in ministry and as a Sunday School Teacher. She, along with her late husband, owned and operated Boynton's Day Nursery and Kindergarten for over thirty years. Her passion for children and her ability to positively influence young lives was an inspiration to those who knew her. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for her grace, sense of humor, integrity, and devotion to God. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tremont Church of God Building Fund, 2854 New Easley Hwy., Greenville, SC 29611 or to the McCall Hospice House, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680. The family would like to express a special thank you to the ladies from Tremont Church of God, JoAn Adams and sister-in-law Florence Dennis for their faithful visits to her home. Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on October 20, 2008 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Services will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence, 10 East Earle St.
