Rachel Secrist

Rachel Blackstone Secrist, 71, of Honea Path, wife of Donald Secrist, died Friday, November 29, 2012 at McCall Hospice House. Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Pearl Gilstrap Blackston. Mrs. Secrist was a bookkeeper and of the Protestant faith. Surviving in addition to her husband of 56 years, are sisters, Macie Armonitis, and husband, Donald, Margaret Bea Davis, and Betty Jo Blackstone; brothers, Melvin C. Blackston, and Joseph D. Blackstone, and wife, Chan; a special nephew, Roger Dale Blackstone; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Darrell Blackstone; four sisters, and one brother. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 2, 2012, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held Monday, December 3, 2012, at the Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to McCall Hospice House, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville SC, 29680.
