Ralph Whaley, Sr

Ralph Earl Whaley, Sr., 73, of Travelers Rest, widower of Wilma Mahaffey Whaley, died Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Floyd and Freddie Mae Davis Whaley. Mr. Whaley was the owner of Wilma's Pump and Tank Company and was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by his son, Ralph Whaley, Jr., and wife, Rene; grandsons, Alexander and Spencer Whaley; brothers, Claude Whaley, Sr., and Gilbert Whaley. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded by sister, Elizabeth Sullivan; and brothers, John Whaley and Frank Whaley, Sr. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held Sunday, December 30, 2012, 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
