Samuel "Sam" Crawford Massey, 69, of 215 Meyers Drive, Greenville, SC, died Saturday, November 27, 2010. A lifelong resident of Greenville, he was the son of the late Broadus S. and Mozelle Sorrow Massey. Mr. Massey was a graduate of Parker High School and retired from the Greenville News after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Church of the Redeemer Episcopal. Mr. Massey is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, "Neil" D. Massey; a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth M. and Robbie Hamilton of Greenville; a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory S. and Leanne H. Massey of Evans, Georgia; two brothers, Douglas Massey of Pickens and Norman Massey of Lincoln, NE; and a grandchild, Samuel Jackson Massey. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at the Church of the Redeemer Episcopal, 120 Mauldin Road, Greenville, SC 29605. Visitation will follow the service from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the church transept. A private committal will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to York Place Episcopal Church Home for Children, 234 Kings Mountain Street, York, SC 29745.

After reading many of the comments on Sam my wish would be to have known him as I know Doug. My sincerest best tho all the family and my deepest prayers.
