Sybil Welborn Spearman Andis, 91, of Greenville, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at McCall Hospice House. Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Claude J. Welborn and Rena Hawkins Welborn. She was a seamstress for Macshore Textiles and a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church, Lydia Sunday school class and Forever Young Senior Adults. Surviving are two daughters, Julia "Nell" Day, Helen Moser, and husband, Robert, both of Greenville; three sons, Furman O. Spearman, Jr., of North Charleston, Donald M. Spearman, and wife, Pat, of Greenville, Steve Spearman, and wife, Donna, of Greenville; a step-son, Wayne Andis and wife, Janet, of Simpsonville; a brother, Thomas Welborn of Easley; three sisters, Ann Garrett, of Greenwood, Linda Bracken, of Easley, and Brenda Atkinson, of Easley; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Furman O. Spearman, second husband, Vernon S. Andis; a daughter-in-law, Deloris Spearman; two sons-in-law, Ralph Cleo Day and Bill Jones; six sisters and four brothers; and a grandson, Gary Lynn Day. Visitation will be held at Rocky Creek Baptist Church, Saturday, May 12, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m., with funeral service following at 12:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to McCall Hospice House, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680 or Rocky Creek Baptist Church Senior Adults, 1801 Woodruff Road, Greenville, SC 29607.
