Thelma Moon

Thelma Ann Moon, 72, of 771 E. Butler Road, Apt. 509, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2008 at St. Francis, Downtown. A native of Greenville County, she was born on November 11, 1935 to the late Truman and Mammie Stephens Garrett. She was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church where she was also a member of the Lydia Sunday School class. She was a salutatorian of her graduating class at Mauldin High School and was a retired employee with Just Kids Her Majesty in Mauldin. Surviving are her husband, Charles Rudolph Moon; four daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria and Steve Rivenbark of Pelzer, Gail Moon of Greenville, Barbara and Logan Neeley of Greer, Brenda and Dan Mathews of Taylors; a brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence and Faye Garrett of Cayce, SC; a sister, Inez G. Robinson of Greenville; three brothers-in-law, Bill White, Vernon Moon and Leroy Moon; nine grandchildren, Travis Moon, Josh Aubrey Rivenbark, Ashley Tony Rowland, Matthew Rivenbark, Michelle Conrado Maldonado, Brittany Neeley, Drew, Ben and Zach Mathews; three great grandchildren, Charlie Moon, Alexis Rowland and Christopher Moon; four nieces, Ann Allen, Robin Johnson, Shannon Watkins and Lynn Callerame; five nephews, Stephen and Bennett Garrett, Ray and Bryan White, Robbie Moon; and a special family friend, Karen Romano. She was preceded in death by a brother, Carl T. Garrett; sister, Louise White; brother-in-law, Carl Robinson and a sister-in-law, Jean Moon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 16-A Brozzini Court, Greenville, SC 29615 or the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at Rocky Creek Baptist Church, 1801 Woodruff Road, Greenville, SC 29607. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 6, 2008 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Rocky Creek Baptist Church, with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Entombment will be in Graceland East Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be at the home of daughter, Brenda Mathews.
