Thurston ?Mac? McQueen, 78, of 276 Old Farrs Bridge Road, died Tuesday, September 13, 2005. Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Garven M. and Ophelia Bartell McQueen. Mr. McQueen retired from J.P. Stevens Monaghan Plant and worked part-time at Anderson Auto Parts. He was a member of Berea Heights Baptist Church and was the last surviving Deacon who was part of the formation of Bethel Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mildred J. Cartee McQueen, of the home; a daughter, Linda Ann McQueen Stowe, of Easley; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Lenier A. McQueen, of Frost Proof, FL; three brothers-in-law, J.J. Cartee and his wife Sandi, of Easley, Earle Alexander and his wife Joan of Mauldin, and John M. Alexander and his wife Marion of Greenville; two sisters-in-law, Roylene Jenkins and her husband Paul of Greenville and Pat McConnell of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Berea Heights Baptist Church with visitation from 1:45 ? 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, West.
