Ty Eckford

Ty Eckford, 61, died Sunday, March 31, 2013. Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Eugene Thomas and Betty Elizabeth Taylor Eckford. Mr. Eckford was the owner of Gene's Restaurant and was currently employed with Palmetto Transport. He attended Warehouse Church in Easley. Surviving are his fiance', Johnnie Catoe; a daughter, Kelly Eckford Orton and husband, Al; and a granddaughter, Helen Orton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Barry Eckford. Visitation will be held Friday, April 5, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Downtown Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Greenville County Cancer Society, 113 Mills Avenue, Greenville, SC 29605.
