Umberto Lancianese

Umberto N. "Herb" Lancianese, age 89, dedicated husband and father, passed on April 14, 2011, at home. Born in Dunbar, PA and raised in Clairton, Pittsburgh PA, he made Greenville his home since 1947. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Army Signal Corps. He was a self-employed business man for most of his life before retiring from 3M Company in 1985. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church as well as a founding member of the Italian-American Club of Greenville. Surviving are his wife, Eleanore; three daughters, Christine; Jeanette, and Maria husband, Michael Chivers, all of Greenville; three sons, Gary wife, Robin of Akron, OH; Dino wife, Kristi Boyatt; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Christian and Nathan of Lexington, KY; and Richard, of Greenville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association. A private funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville.
