Vali Valipour

Colonel Vali Valipour, Ph.D., 80, of Piedmont, died Friday, April 1, 2011. Born in Taleghan, Iran, he was the son of the late Hedayat and Nesah Valipour. Col. Valipour served in the Iranian Army and held a Ph.D. in Psychology. He worked at the Poinsett Club for 30 years. Vali has left his mark in this world. Not only was he a father to three sons and five grandchildren, he was also a father and a teacher to many people that he came in contact with. He is survived by his loving wife, Monica DeJong Valipour; three sons, Saeed Valipour of Myrtle Beach, Siamak Valipour of Myrtle Beach, and Adam Valipour of Piedmont; five grandchildren, Nesah, Brittanie, Brandon, Ashley, and Katie Valipour; and a nephew, Hassan Valipour and best friend of 60 years, Dr. Gholom Kazemian. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at The Poinsett Club, 807 East Washington Street, Greenville. Visitation will follow the service.
