W. C. Pilgrim, 82, of Simpsonville, loving husband of Lucille Pilgrim for sixty years, passed away March 19, 2009. Born in Six Mile, SC, he was a son of the late Samuel Jefferson and Ella Bryson Pilgrim. Mr. Pilgrim served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was the owner of W. C. Pilgrim Concrete for thirty-five years and was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Carol Carver Harley, Judy Poole, Patsy McCauley, Nancy McAlister, Johnny Pilgrim Claudette, Sammy Pilgrim Dianne; two sisters, Elizabeth Johnson and Ruth Latta; three brothers, Leroy, Herman and Clyde Pilgrim; eighteen grandchildren and thirty-one great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Andrew Pilgrim. The funeral service will be Saturday, March 21 at 3:00 PM in the chapel at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with visitation prior to the service at 1:30 – 2:45 PM. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, West. The family will be at the home.
