William “Bill” Harris

William ?Bill? Harris, 82, of 101 Fairoaks Drive, husband of Jean Satterfield Harris, died Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. Born in Gastonia, N.C., he was the son of the late Gordon and Margaret DeLoach Harris. Mr. Harris was retired from Duke Power Company and was a United States Navy Veteran having served during WWII. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four daughters, Barbara H. Buff of Lexington, SC., Cindy H. Carter of Zebulon, NC., Glenda S. Mixson and Ann Stasney both of Greenville; two sons, Benjamin Harris of Savannah, GA., Buddy Stasney of Denver, NC.; three sisters; one brother; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children?s Research Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the charity of one?s choice. A celebration of life will be conducted Sunday, April 9, 2006 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:30 until 2:45 pm. The family will be at the residence.
